I had a similar moment when the inspector flagged my window blinds for being “improperly secured.” Apparently, the screws were a quarter-inch too short. I mean, I get safety’s important, but sometimes it feels like they’re just flexing their rulebook muscles. Still, I guess if they didn’t catch the little stuff, we’d all be tripping over our own doormats - or blinds, in my case. I swear, last time I had a city inspection, they flagged a random outlet cover that was barely cracked - never would’ve noticed it.
