Title: Keeping track of renovation plans without losing your mind

Honestly, I think project management apps are underrated for stuff like this. People act like they’re just for big teams, but even for one house, they can save your sanity. I use Trello—just basic lists for each room, with cards for things like “find cabinet pulls” or “pick grout color.” You can attach photos, links, whatever. It’s way less chaotic than a million notes scattered everywhere.

Paint swatches and hardware samples are still a pain, though. I just take pics of everything and upload them to the right card. Not perfect, but at least I’m not digging through drawers looking for that one tiny paint chip anymore.

Color-coding folders never worked for me either. Too much effort to maintain, and it always fell apart after a week. Digital boards are easier to update on the fly, especially when you’re standing in the aisle at Home Depot trying to remember which finish you picked out last month...

Totally get where you’re coming from—digital boards are a lifesaver when the chaos starts piling up. I tried the old-school binder route once and it turned into a disaster of coffee stains and lost receipts. Trello’s way easier to tweak as plans change, and having everything in one spot just feels less overwhelming. You’re right, those paint chips never stay organized no matter how hard you try... snapping pics is the only way I’ve kept my sanity.

- Totally relate to the binder mess—mine ended up stuffed with random receipts and hardware store flyers I never needed.
- Trello’s been a game changer for me too, but sometimes I still miss flipping through actual samples... digital pics are helpful but don’t always show the real color, you know?
- You’re definitely not alone trying to keep it all together. It’s a lot, but sounds like you’ve got a good system going.

Honestly, I get the appeal of digital tools like Trello, but I still think there’s something about having a physical mood board or sample wall at home. I’ve tried snapping pics, but colors just never look right on my phone. Maybe it’s old-school, but seeing and touching the real thing helps me visualize way better than any app.
