Honestly, I’m still getting used to the digital thing. I keep thinking I’ve uploaded everything, then I’ll get an email saying I missed some random attachment. At least with paper, someone would just point it out right there. The spreadsheet idea is smart though—I’ve just been digging through my email threads like a detective. Feels like there’s always one more hoop to jump through...

I totally get what you mean about feeling like a detective. Last time I submitted plans for a small remodel, I thought I had every doc in order. Two days later, I got a cryptic email about a “missing site plan attachment.” Turns out, it was buried in a subfolder I didn’t even know existed. With paper, at least you could hand someone a stack and they’d flip through it right there. Digital is supposed to be easier, but sometimes it just feels like a scavenger hunt.

I totally get that scavenger hunt feeling. When I uploaded my plans, I thought the fancy “project dashboard” would keep things tidy, but I lost track of which version was which after the third revision. Ever had a reviewer ask for something you *swear* you already sent?

That’s the story of my life. I started naming my files things like “FINAL_final_reallyfinal.pdf” just to keep up. The dashboard’s great until you realize you’ve uploaded “kitchen_layout_v2” three times with different tweaks. I’ve actually started keeping a separate spreadsheet just to track what I sent and when—old-school, but it saves my sanity. Digital’s supposed to be easier, but sometimes I miss the days when you could just hand someone a stack of paper and say, “Here, it’s all there.”

- Yep, been there.
- Digital’s supposed to streamline things, but half the time I’m digging through old emails or portals trying to prove I already sent the “right” version.
- Honestly, sometimes I think paper was slower but at least you could physically hand it over and know it landed on someone’s desk.
- The spreadsheet trick helps, but it’s wild how much time goes into just tracking files instead of actual project work.
- Wish there was a universal naming system or something... but then again, we’d probably all ignore it anyway.
