Darker grout definitely saves headaches down the lineβlearned that the hard way myself. Cork flooring intrigues me though; I've read mixed reviews about its durability and water resistance. Did you take any extra waterproofing measures or treatments to make it bathroom-friendly? Curious how it's holding up after regular use, since moisture can be tricky in bathrooms...
We went with cork flooring in our guest bath about three years ago, and honestly, it's held up better than expected. Didn't do any special waterproofing treatments beyond what the manufacturer recommendedβjust made sure to seal it properly during installation. It does feel warmer underfoot, which is a nice bonus. Have you checked out any specific brands yet? Some seem to handle moisture better than others...but overall, I'd say don't rule cork out completely if you're leaning towards it.

Glad you mentioned thisβI tell clients all the time that proper sealing makes a huge difference. Cork can definitely surprise people with how durable it is, especially in bathrooms. Good call!
Did mine about a year ago, came in around $6k total. Did most of the labor myself, though, so that saved a ton. Agree with this:
"proper sealing makes a huge difference."
Honestly, skipping or rushing sealing is asking for trouble later... learned that the hard way on my first remodel.
Mine ran about $8k, but I hired out plumbing and electricalβno way was I tackling that myself. Totally agree on the sealing... rushed mine a bit and now I'm noticing moisture issues. Lesson learned for next time.
