Scrolling through my feed earlier and stumbled across this video of a dude fixing a huge hole in his wall using ramen noodles and glue. Like, actual instant ramen bricks. He sanded it down, painted over it, and honestly, it looked pretty decent at the end. But um...wouldn't that attract bugs or something? Seems kinda sketchy to me, but maybe I'm missing something. Has anyone tried something weird like this before?

Saw that video too, and honestly, as someone who's patched plenty of holes in my old house, I'd steer clear of food-based fixes. Had a friend who tried something similar with flour paste once - looked fine at first, but bugs loved it...lesson learned the hard way.
Yeah, food-based fixes are a no-go. Even if bugs don't get to it, moisture eventually will. Drywall compound is cheap and easy enough to use - plus, sanding ramen noodles sounds like a nightmare. Had a client once who tried toothpaste for small nail holes...worked temporarily, but ended up discoloring the paint badly. Stick to proper materials, saves headaches later.
