I once tried to finish drywall sanding by candlelight—bad idea. Missed half the spots and had to redo it all the next day.

Been there, done that... except my disaster was painting trim with a flashlight wedged under my chin. Ended up with more paint on myself than the wall. Headlamps are a game changer, but I’ll admit, I’ve also used my phone’s flashlight in a pinch—awkward, but better than nothing. At this point, I don’t even care if I look like a miner as long as I can see what I’m doing.

- I’ve definitely tried the phone flashlight trick—awkward is right. The shadows make it tough to see what’s actually painted and what’s just glare.
- These days, I keep a rechargeable work light in my tool bag. Not glamorous, but it saves time and frustration.
- Curious if anyone’s tried those battery backup LED bulbs? I’ve seen mixed reviews, but in theory, they could save a project when the power cuts out... Worth it, or just another gadget?
