Been thinking about finally ditching the old radiators and going for underfloor heating. Did some digging around, and seems like there's two main ways to go about it—electric mats or hydronic tubing (the water-based kind). Electric seems easier to install, especially if you're just doing a single room or a small area. But I've heard running costs can get pretty steep if you're heating a larger space long-term.

Hydronic sounds more complicated upfront—pipes, boilers, pumps, the whole shebang—but apparently it's cheaper in the long run and better for bigger spaces. Plus, I kinda like the idea of using hot water instead of electricity... feels more old-school cozy somehow, you know?

Anyone here have experience with either type? I'm leaning towards hydronic because our place isn't exactly tiny, but I'm not totally sold yet. Curious what others think and if there's anything else I should consider before diving in.
