"Wonder if there's a noticeable difference in durability compared to metal ones long-term..."

Switched mine about two years agoβ€”still holding up great. Nylon rollers might wear a bit quicker than metal, but honestly, the quieter operation and smoother feel make it worth the trade-off imo.

Yeah, agreed. Swapped mine out about four years ago, and they're still going strong. If you're worried about durability, just give them a quick check every year or soβ€”takes like five minutes tops. Honestly, the noise reduction alone was worth it for me... no more waking up the entire house when I leave early for work.

I switched to nylon rollers about two years ago after my old metal ones started sounding like a medieval torture device. Can't speak for long-term yet, but the difference in noise levels was night and day... my neighbors probably think I've moved out.

I had the same issue with my old metal rollersβ€”every morning sounded like I was opening the gates of Mordor. Switched to nylon about a year ago, and now I can sneak out early without waking up the entire household... total game changer.

Nylon rollers definitely help cut down the noise, but I've found that pairing them with a belt-driven opener makes an even bigger difference. Installed one last summer, and now my garage door practically whispers openβ€”no more cringing at 5 am. Curious though, did you notice any difference in durability or maintenance needs after switching to nylon? Mine have held up pretty well so far, but I'm wondering how they'll fare long-term...
