Exactly! I swapped to mechanical locks after one too many midnight calls from tenants locked out because of dead batteries. Plus, hearing that satisfying click... weirdly therapeutic. Highly recommend it for sanity alone.

Haha, totally get what you mean about the click. I switched back to mechanical locks too—budget-friendly, reliable, and honestly, installing them yourself is pretty straightforward. Just grab a screwdriver, follow the instructions, and voilà... peace of mind restored.

Yeah, instructions always make it sound so simple... until you're standing there with screws scattered everywhere. Last time I tried, ended up watching YouTube tutorials mid-installation. Got there eventually, though!

Haha, yeah, instructions always seem to skip the part where reality kicks in. Pro tip: lay out all your screws and parts beforehand—it saves you from that mid-project YouTube panic... usually. Glad you got it sorted eventually, though!

Haha, learned this the hard way when I was restoring my old Victorian front door. Thought I'd be clever and skip labeling all the tiny brass screws—big mistake. Spent an hour digging through sawdust and paint chips trying to find one rogue screw that decided to go AWOL. Instructions never warn you about century-old hardware quirks... reality always has other plans. Glad your drama ended well though!
