Haha, bathroom window sounds rough... I once had to squeeze through the doggy door at 2am - neighbors probably thought I was nuts. Midnight lockouts really test your dignity, don't they?

Honestly, dignity's overrated when you're stuck outside at midnight. But squeezing through a doggy door? Nah, I'd rather camp out on the porch till morning than risk getting stuck halfway through and having to explain that to the fire department. 😂

Seriously though, instead of risking life and limb (or dignity), why not stash a spare key somewhere clever? I know people say it's risky, but there are some pretty creative hiding spots these days - fake sprinkler heads, magnetic boxes under the grill... I've even seen someone tuck one inside a birdhouse. Beats crawling through tiny openings or breaking windows any day.

Then again, maybe I'm just too practical. But hey, whatever works!

Haha, I feel you on the doggy door thing - had a client once who tried exactly that and ended up calling me the next day to replace the whole door after he got stuck and panicked. Not his proudest moment, but it made for a good laugh later. You're spot-on about creative hiding spots though; I've installed a few of those fake sprinkler heads myself, and honestly, they're pretty convincing. Beats camping out with the mosquitoes any night...

Fake sprinkler heads, huh...never even thought of that one. Clever idea, but I wonder how they'd hold up in an older home like mine - everything here is brick and stonework, so blending something like that in might be tricky. Plus, my neighbors are the nosy type; they'd probably notice me fiddling around with sprinklers at odd hours and call it in as suspicious activity.

Speaking of creative hiding spots, has anyone tried those magnetic key holders under cars or metal railings? I've heard mixed things - some swear by them, others say they're just asking for trouble. Seems like they'd be convenient, but maybe too obvious? Curious if anyone's had luck with them or if they're just another gimmick waiting to fail at the worst possible moment...

I've used those magnetic key holders before - honestly, mixed bag. Had one stuck under my car for months without issue, but another fell off after a single bumpy drive...go figure. Probably depends on placement more than anything.
