Breaking up payments does feel like more admin, but at least the risk is spread out if someone flakes...
Splitting payments has been my go-to for a while now, even though, yeah, it adds more paperwork. The thing is, chasing a smaller amount is less stressful, and if someone bails, you’re not left holding the bag for the whole sum. I’ve also found that clear written agreements up front—outlining exactly when and how much is due—help minimize “negotiations” after the fact. Automated reminders are great, but I still keep a physical calendar as backup... old habits die hard.
