Last weekend I finally got around to rigging up some homemade lighting along the steps leading down to my basement. Nothing fancy, just some LED strips and a motion sensor I snagged online. Yesterday, carrying laundry down, I almost tripped on my kid's toy car (seriously, how do those things get everywhere??), but the lights kicked on just in time and saved me from faceplanting into concrete. Felt pretty proud of myself afterward, haha.
Anybody else have a similar close call or success story with their own lighting setups?
Nice save with those lightsβI had a similar moment a few months back. My setup was even simpler: solar-powered LEDs along the garden path. Thought they'd just look nice, but one night I was hauling out recycling (arms full, of course) and nearly wiped out on a garden hose I'd forgotten about. Those little lights gave me just enough warning to sidestep disaster... now I'm thinking your motion sensor idea might be worth trying indoors too. Did you follow a tutorial or just wing it?
