I swear, my 1920s place could double as a rainforest some days.

Ha, I feel that. My bathroom’s like a steam room with a grudge. I tried the silicone trick too, but does anyone else get that weird peeling after a year or so? Maybe I’m just cursed with bad caulk jobs... The fan helps, but my kids treat the switch like it’s radioactive.

Yeah, peeling caulk drives me nuts too. I started using painter’s tape to get cleaner lines, but honestly, I think it’s all about making sure the area’s bone dry before you start. Learned that one the hard way after three redos...

Man, I hear you on that. I once tried to rush a bathroom flip and thought “eh, it’s dry enough.” Nope. The caulk peeled up like old sunburned skin within a week. Now I’m borderline obsessive—fan on, towel dry, then I leave it overnight just to be safe. It feels like overkill, but honestly, it beats scraping out moldy caulk every few months. Painter’s tape is a game changer too, but nothing saves you if there’s even a hint of moisture lurking in those corners.

I’m with you—moisture’s the sneaky villain in all this. I learned the hard way too, but I’ll admit, I don’t always wait overnight. Sometimes I just hit it with a hair dryer for a few minutes and cross my fingers. Hasn’t failed me yet... but I probably just jinxed it.

I’ve totally done the hair dryer trick too, especially when I’m in a rush and just want to pretend the bathroom’s “dry enough.” Sometimes I’ll even crack the window in the middle of winter—probably not energy efficient, but hey, old house problems. Honestly, as long as the mold stays away, I call it a win.
