Tried silica packs myself—here's my take:
- They're decent for small spaces like drawers or shoe boxes.
- For closets, you'd need a ton to make a noticeable difference.
- Moisture bags (the hanging kind) worked better for me, but still not a miracle fix.
Ventilation really is king here...sounds like you're on the right track already.

Totally feel your pain with moldy closets—been there, done that. Silica packs helped me out in smaller areas too, but yeah, I agree they're not magic. Honestly, ventilation made the biggest difference for me. I started leaving my closet doors open whenever possible and added a small fan nearby... it wasn't perfect, but it definitely helped tame the frizz situation as well. You're doing the right things already, hang in there—it does get better over time.

Totally agree about ventilation—it's key. A few other things I've found helpful:

- Switched to cedar hangers and blocks; they're naturally mold-resistant and smell nice too.
- Checked humidity levels regularly with a cheap hygrometer (aimed for below 50%).
- Used activated charcoal bags alongside silica packs—they seem to absorb moisture better in my experience.

None of these are miracle cures, but combined they made a noticeable difference. Also, weirdly enough, my hair frizz improved once I got the humidity under control...bonus side effect, I guess?

Good points about cedar and charcoal bags—I tried both with mixed results. Cedar smells great, but honestly, after a few months, I felt like the mold was creeping back in anyway. Maybe my closets were just too damp to begin with? Ended up installing a small dehumidifier instead, and that was the game changer for me. My electricity bill went up slightly, but it was worth it to finally stop the mold cycle. Plus, less frizz is always welcome...humidity is no joke.

I've been debating the dehumidifier route myself, but I'm worried about the extra electricity cost adding up over time. Did you notice a big jump in your bill, or was it pretty minor? Honestly, anything to tame the frizz might be worth it at this point...
