I'm finally tackling my kitchen update (yay me, only took like 3 years to get started, lol). Anyway, I'm stuck between flush mount ceiling lights and recessed lights. I like how flush mounts can add a bit of style and personality, you know, something decorative to look at. But then again, recessed lights seem cleaner and more modern, plus they don't take up visual space, which might make my smallish kitchen feel bigger.
I've heard recessed lights can be a pain to install if your ceiling isn't already set up for them, but flush mounts might not give off as even lighting. Anyone have experience with either? Which did you go with and are you happy with your choice? I'm kinda leaning towards recessed, but I'm still on the fence...
I went recessed in my kitchen and honestly, zero regrets. Install was a bit of a hassle (old ceilings, ugh), but the clean look and even lighting made the space feel way bigger. Flush mounts can be cute, sure, but recessed just feels more timeless imo.
