Under-cabinet LEDs still glow after the switch is off

A faint glow from under-cabinet LEDs when they’re switched off seems like a clue, but not a clear diagnosis. Could it be related to a dimmer, smart switch, or illuminated switch, or can some LED setups glow faintly even with the lights off?

Does the glow stay steady, or does it flicker? I’d also like to know whether identifying the power supply or driver helps narrow down compatibility issues. What’s reasonable to check without opening wiring, and when would you bring in an electrician rather than start replacing lights?

The driver details are useful if they show what kind of switch control it supports. A driver that isn’t rated for the dimmer’s control method can behave unexpectedly, so compare its specified input and control type with the switch. The model number helps you find those specs, but it doesn’t diagnose the glow by itself.

Some LED drivers can let a tiny current through show up as a faint glow, especially with very efficient LEDs. So even if the control is compatible, or it’s an ordinary on/off switch, the glow alone doesn’t prove the fixture is faulty. I wouldn’t replace the lights based on that symptom by itself.
