Couldn’t agree more—ripping out solid wood cabinets just because they’re “dated” seems wasteful, especially if they’re still sturdy. I’ve refinished mine twice now and people always ask if they’re new. Paint, hardware, and better lighting go a long way. Sometimes those big demo jobs are more hassle than they’re worth.
