Just finished putting in some recessed lights in my living room ceiling. Wasn't too bad actually, just measured carefully, cut holes with a drywall saw, ran wiring, and popped the fixtures in. But um, anyone got tips to make wiring easier or cleaner?

Nice job getting those lights in—sounds like you nailed it. Wiring can definitely be a bit of a headache, though. I remember when I did mine, I thought I'd save time by skipping the fish tape and just pushing wires through by hand... big mistake. Ended up spending half the day wrestling with stubborn cables and muttering things I'm glad my kids didn't hear.

One thing that helped me later on was using cable staples or clips every few feet to keep things tidy and secure. Also, labeling wires at both ends saved me from some serious confusion down the road (trust me, future-you will thank present-you). And if you're ever running wires through tight spaces or insulation, a little baby powder sprinkled on the cable makes it slide through way easier—sounds weird, but it works.

Anyway, congrats on tackling this yourself. DIY lighting projects always seem intimidating at first, but once they're done, it's totally worth it.
