Saw this article today about some small town that swapped out all their old streetlights for LED bulbs. Apparently they're saving like tens of thousands of dollars a year now on electricity bills. Pretty impressive, honestly. Made me wonder if more cities should be doing this. But then again, I don't know much about the upfront costs or if there are downsides. Curious what others think—is this as good as it sounds or am I missing something?
