I've always stuck with knives myself, but corners do drive me nuts sometimes. Is there a specific brand of corner trowel you'd recommend, or are they all pretty much the same?

Yeah, corners are the worst... honestly, a good corner trowel can make a huge difference. I've tried a few brands, and Marshalltown has always felt the most solid and comfortable. Worth the extra few bucks, imo.

Marshalltown does make solid stuff, but I've had decent luck with Hyde too—especially their stainless steel corner trowels. Easy cleanup and they hold up well. Curious though, anyone tried those adjustable-angle corner tools? Seems practical for odd angles, but I wonder if they're actually worth the hassle...
I've actually tried one of those adjustable-angle corner tools you're talking about. Thought it'd be a game changer for this weird angled ceiling I was working on—spoiler alert: it wasn't quite the miracle I'd hoped for. 😂
Don't get me wrong, the concept is great. You can tweak the angle to match whatever funky corner you're dealing with, which sounds perfect in theory. But in practice, it took me forever to dial in the right angle, and even then it felt a bit awkward to handle smoothly. Maybe it's just me being clumsy, but I ended up going back to my trusty fixed-angle stainless Hyde after about half an hour of fiddling around.

Gotta agree here though—Marshalltown does feel great in hand. Still, Hyde's stainless steel stuff has never let me down either, especially when it comes to cleanup. Anyway, maybe someone else had better luck with those adjustable ones...could just be user error on my part!
I've had pretty similar experiences with those adjustable-angle tools. The idea sounds great, but in reality, they just never felt stable enough for me. I spent way too much time adjusting and readjusting, and even then, the results weren't noticeably better than my fixed-angle tools.

Marshalltown definitely feels premium, but as someone who doesn't do drywall often enough to justify the extra cost, I've found Hyde stainless steel tools to be a solid compromise. They're durable, easy to clean, and affordable enough that I don't stress if I accidentally ding one up. For tricky angles, I've had better luck just taking my time with a regular corner knife and sanding carefully afterward. Might take a bit longer, but less frustration overall...at least for me.
