Yeah, those outlet gaps are sneaky little culprits. Had the same chilly-wall mystery and drove myself nuts checking windows and doors until I stumbled onto the outlet trick. Interesting you mention curtains... I've seen them help a bit, but usually they're more of a band-aid than a real fix. Have you checked if your insulation is up to par? Sometimes older homes have insulation that's settled or deteriorated over time, leaving cold spots behind the drywall. Might be worth looking into, especially if you're noticing persistent cold walls despite sealing outlets and windows.
