I’ve tried the “all in one day” approach too, and yeah, it never goes quite as planned. I get the appeal—less time dragging out supplies, fewer days with drop cloths everywhere, and you feel like you’re saving money by being efficient. But honestly, every time I rush, I end up using more paint for touch-ups and sometimes even have to buy extra supplies. Not exactly budget-friendly.
What’s worked better for me is breaking it up into smaller chunks. I’ll do one wall or section at a time, and I’m way less likely to miss spots or end up with those weird roller marks. Plus, I can actually see how the color looks in different light before committing to the whole room. It’s not as satisfying as finishing everything in a single go, but I’d rather avoid the cost of fixing mistakes later.
Corners are always the worst when I’m tired. I’ve learned to just call it a day when my arm starts cramping or I start getting sloppy. It’s tempting to power through, but I’d rather spend a little more time up front than have to redo a wall because I got impatient. And yeah, I still try to push it sometimes... old habits, like you said.
I guess for me, slow and steady wins, especially if I want to keep costs down and not lose my mind over uneven edges.
