I used to just jump in and start slapping paint on the walls, but after a couple of disasters (think peeling corners and weird streaks), I learned my lesson. Now I’m all about the prep—even if it feels like it takes forever. Quick wipe-down, patch holes, tape everything... then I can relax and actually enjoy painting. Eco-friendly paints really do show every little mistake, don’t they?

I swear, eco-friendly paints are both a blessing and a curse. Love that they’re non-toxic, but man, every single brush stroke shows if you skip even one step in prep. I used to think “how bad can it be?”—then I spent hours sanding down weird bubbles. Now I’m all about the slow and steady approach. It’s kind of like yoga for your house, honestly. The patience pays off, especially when you see that smooth, even finish at the end.
