"does anyone else find that rearranging furniture every few weeks helps prevent those annoying mildew spots from forming underneath?"

Honestly, rearranging furniture sounds like a lot of extra work... I prefer elevating mine slightly with small risers or bricks. Keeps airflow underneath and no mildew yet, fingers crossed.

I used to rearrange my patio furniture regularly too, but honestly, it got exhausting after a while. Now I just use outdoor rugs underneath—seems to help airflow and keeps mildew at bay. Plus, it adds a nice pop of color... win-win.

Haha, totally relate to the furniture shuffle burnout. I went through a phase where I'd rearrange my patio every weekend, convinced I'd finally found the perfect layout—only to change my mind again by Tuesday. Rugs definitely helped me too, but another lifesaver was adding some wheeled plant stands under my heavier pots. Easier to move around, better drainage, and no more back-breaking lifting... my chiropractor misses me though.

Haha, the wheeled plant stands are genius—why didn't I think of that sooner? My lower back is giving me a side-eye as we speak. But speaking of patio hacks, has anyone tried those self-watering planters yet? I was skeptical at first, thinking they'd either drown my plants or dry them out completely, but honestly they've been a game changer. Especially during those busy weeks when I forget I even have plants until they're drooping dramatically in protest.

Also, curious if anyone else has tried sealing their outdoor cushions with waterproofing spray? I gave it a shot last spring, and it surprisingly made a huge difference. No more sprinting outside to rescue cushions every time rain clouds roll in... although my neighbors probably miss the entertainment of me racing around in pajamas.

And while we're on the topic—do you all cover your furniture in winter or just bring everything inside? I've tried both, but somehow always end up wrestling tarps in freezing temperatures at midnight, questioning all my life choices. There's gotta be an easier way, right?

I've actually had mixed results with those self-watering planters. They're great for short trips, but I found they made some of my plants a bit lazy—roots didn't grow as deep, and the plants seemed less resilient overall. Maybe it's just me? As for furniture, I gave up on tarps years ago. Now I just invest in weather-resistant pieces and leave them out year-round... life's too short to wrestle covers in the snow.
