How much concern does a dip in a roof ridge warrant?

A visible dip along a roof ridge could be an old framing irregularity, or it could reflect movement. Without knowing how the roof is framed or whether the shape has changed, I’m not sure what clues are most useful.

Would you treat a ridge sag as more urgent if it’s new or getting worse, or if there are related signs such as ceiling cracks, doors that have started sticking, or leaks? I’m also wondering what a qualified professional would need to assess before deciding whether it’s cosmetic or structural.
