Been thinking about insulation lately since winter's creeping up again. Last year, I noticed my heating bills were kinda ridiculous, so I'm looking into upgrading. I've narrowed it down to fiberglass batts or spray foam insulation. Fiberglass seems cheaper and easier to DIY, but spray foam apparently seals better and lasts longer? I'm a bit torn here...anyone have experience with either one? Curious which you'd recommend and why.

Spray foam made a huge difference for us—yeah, it's pricier upfront, but the savings on heating bills were noticeable right away. Fiberglass is decent, but drafts always seem to find their way in eventually. Have you checked if your attic ventilation is good too?

Spray foam definitely seals things up tighter, no doubt about that. I flipped a house last winter where the previous owner had fiberglass installed, and you could literally feel the cold air sneaking in around the edges on windy days. Ended up going with spray foam in the attic and basement rim joists—made a huge difference. But you're right about attic ventilation too...seen a few cases where folks went overboard sealing things up and ended up with moisture issues. Balance is key.
