Last summer, I moved into a place with huge windows—loved the natural light but quickly realized it came with some downsides. You know how furniture fades when sunlight hits it all day? Yeah, my couch turned from navy blue to some weird washed-out denim color in just a few months. And then there was my poor dog scratching at the glass whenever squirrels dared invade our yard. I thought I'd have to replace the windows eventually, which was gonna cost a fortune.

Then someone at work mentioned those clear adhesive films you can put on glass. I was skeptical at first, sounded kinda gimmicky tbh. But figured it was worth a shot since they're pretty cheap online. Ordered a roll, spent an afternoon awkwardly wrestling with bubbles (pro tip: use soapy water spray and a squeegee thingy—it helps a ton), and finally got it looking halfway decent.

Surprisingly, it's been almost a year now and the difference is impressive. My furniture stopped fading as much (no more sad denim couch), and scratches from my dog's paws don't even show up anymore—the film takes all the abuse instead of the actual glass. Plus, bonus points for making cleaning easier; smudges wipe off way quicker somehow.

I'm curious if anyone else has tried something similar or has other hacks to deal with window issues? Maybe there's something better out there I'm missing...
