Need ideas for draining my pool without flooding the yard

Gravel channels can definitely get gunked up over time, especially if you’ve got a lot of trees nearby. I tried the perforated drain pipes under my deck, and honestly, it wasn’t as much hassle as I expected. They really helped redirect water, but you do need to wrap them in landscape fabric or something similar or they’ll clog up too. It’s a bit of work upfront, but way less headache later when you’re not dealing with a swampy mess every time it rains.

Yeah, wrapping the pipes is key - otherwise you’re just trading one headache for another. Ever try a rain garden setup? Sometimes just letting the water spread out and soak in (with the right plants) does wonders, and it’s less plastic in the ground. Curious if you’ve run into root issues with those pipes, though? I’ve seen tree roots just invade like it’s their new home.
