Haha, yeah, eco-friendly sealants got me once too. Thought I was being clever until water started pooling on the bathroom floor... lesson learned the soggy way. Silicone might not win any green awards, but it sure keeps the water where it belongs. At least these DIY mishaps keep things interesting—can't say home improvement ever gets boring around here.

Been there myself—tried the eco-friendly route first, but honestly, silicone's the way to go if you want to avoid surprise indoor puddles. Sometimes practicality beats idealism, especially when it comes to water damage. Learned that one quick.

Couldn't agree more. Silicone's reliable, but also make sure you're applying it properly—clean the surface thoroughly first, use painter's tape for neat edges, and smooth it out with a damp finger. Saves headaches later... trust me.

Good tips there. One thing I'd add—don't rush the drying time. I learned the hard way when I thought "dry enough" meant good to go... ended up redoing the whole thing. Patience definitely pays off here.

Good point about drying time—I learned this lesson myself recently. Thought I'd save money by sealing up my shower quickly after a minor leak. Big mistake... ended up costing me double in materials because I had to redo it all over again. Now I always give it extra drying time, even if it seems fine. A little patience can really save your wallet down the road.
