SHOWER NICHE KEEPS LEAKING - WHAT AM I DOING WRONG?

I've redone my shower niche twice now, and somehow water still finds its way in. Used cement board, applied waterproof membrane (the liquid kind), even sealed the edges with silicone. Thought I was being thorough but um... apparently not enough. Maybe I'm missing something obvious? It's driving me nuts. Has anyone tackled this sorta problem before or have suggestions on what might help?
