Totally agree, especially about the liquid membranes being DIY-friendly. A couple extra thoughts from my experience:
- Older homes (like mine) often have uneven walls or odd angles, and honestly, liquid membranes can be a lifesaver there. You just brush it on and don't have to fuss with cutting sheets perfectly.
- Also, if you're patching or repairing an existing shower rather than starting fresh, liquids blend in easier without creating awkward seams.
Kerdi's great, but sometimes simpler really is better...especially if you're dealing with quirky spaces.
