Sticky notes still multiply, though... haven’t cracked that code yet.

Tell me about it—sticky notes are like rabbits. I tried color-coding mine, but now I just have rainbow chaos. Honestly, I swear by a big old ledger book. It’s not fancy, but it keeps me sane when the house is in pieces.

Been there. My sticky notes started looking like confetti after a parade. Here’s my current system: grab a cheap spiral notebook, number the pages, and dedicate one page per room or project. Tape any crucial sticky notes right onto the page if you must—at least they’re corralled. Bonus: you can doodle floor plans in the margins when inspiration strikes. It’s not perfect, but it beats chasing neon paper scraps under the fridge.

I’ve tried the notebook thing, but I always end up with random measurements scribbled in the margins and then can’t remember which room they’re for. Do you actually stick to one page per room, or does it start blending together after a while? I keep thinking about switching to digital notes, but then I worry I’ll forget to check them. At least with sticky notes, the chaos is visible... which is both a blessing and a curse.

Sticky notes are my personal nemesis—one gust of wind and it’s like confetti in the living room. I tried the “one page per room” thing, but honestly, it always devolves into a mess of arrows and crossed-out numbers. Digital notes are great if you actually remember to open them, but I get what you mean about forgetting. Lately, I’ve been using painter’s tape on the walls with measurements written right on it. Not pretty, but at least I know which wall I meant...

- Painter’s tape with measurements is honestly a pro move. I’ve seen people get so stressed trying to keep everything digital or perfectly organized, but sometimes practical wins over pretty.
- Sticky notes are cute in theory, but yeah, I’ve chased them across job sites more times than I care to admit. They’re just not built for chaos.
- One thing I’ve found helpful: snap a quick photo of the wall with the tape and numbers before you move on. Even if your handwriting is messy, at least you’ll have a backup if the tape falls off or someone peels it away by accident.
- Don’t sweat the messiness. Renovations are chaotic by nature—if your system works for you, that’s what matters.
- If you ever want to go digital again, some folks swear by voice memos. Just ramble into your phone as you walk through each room. Not for everyone, but it can be a lifesaver when your hands are full of tools.
- Honestly, there’s no “right” way. You’re definitely not alone in the sticky note struggle...
