RE: Need ideas for draining my pool without flooding the yard
That’s pretty much where I landed too. I looked into rain gardens but the cost and upkeep just didn’t make sense for me. Ended up doing a gravel trench like you described - cheap, easy, and it just works. Not flashy, but...
RE: Which is better for eco-friendly homes: strict rules or flexible guidelines?
I totally get what you’re saying about things slipping through the cracks if there’s too much “winging it.” As someone who’s tried to keep costs down on my own renovation, I’ve noticed that strict rules can sometimes mea...
RE: Kitchen Redesign Adventure: Worth the Hype or Not?
Haha, exactly - I've found the same thing! Repurposed some old cabinet doors for shelves myself. A few dings and scratches just add character... and saved me a decent chunk of change too.

We tried the heavy blackout curtains in our bedroom, and honestly, they did help a bit with street noise - not a miracle fix, but noticeable enough to justify the cost. Rugs and furniture rearranging also made the room f...
RE: Finally switched to keyless entry and here's what I noticed
I totally get where you're coming from - switching to keyless entry felt like a leap of faith for me too. But honestly, after about a year with mine, I'd say the convenience is worth the minor headaches. Yeah, I've had m...
RE: Finally switched to keyless entry and here's what I noticed
Totally agree about keeping a physical backup handy. I went keyless last year (budget-friendly model, of course), and while it's been mostly great, I've had a couple battery scares already. Now I stash a spare key somewh...
