Okay, so I'm finally (FINALLY) getting around to updating my kitchen cabinets—nothing fancy, just trying to make them a little less boring and more functional. But the thing is, I had no idea there were so many little gadgets and extras you could add inside cabinets to make life easier. Like, I always thought cabinets were just boxes with shelves... apparently not, lol.
I saw these pull-out spice racks online and thought "huh, that's pretty neat," but then I fell down a rabbit hole of lazy susans, slide-out trash bins, built-in cutting boards, hidden drawer dividers... it's endless. And now I'm stuck in decision paralysis mode.
Figured I'd throw up a quick poll here to see what people actually find useful in real life before I go splurging on stuff I'll never use (been there, done that 🙄).
Quick poll: What's your favorite little cabinet upgrade that you actually use every day?
1. Pull-out spice rack
2. Lazy susan corner storage
3. Built-in trash/recycling bin
4. Drawer dividers/organizers
5. Under-cabinet lighting
6. Slide-out shelves for pots & pans
Feel free to share any stories or warnings about stuff you bought but regret now... like those fancy wine glass holders collecting dust in my friend's kitchen because she realized she only drinks from mugs 😂
Definitely built-in trash/recycling bins. I installed one in my own kitchen remodel thinking it'd just be a neat feature, but now it's the one thing I'd never go without. It's so convenient having the trash hidden away and easily accessible while cooking. On the flip side, I got sucked into buying under-cabinet lighting... looks nice, sure, but honestly I forget to turn it on half the time.
