“I’ve tripped over more extension cords than I care to admit.”

Man, I feel that. My garage is basically a jungle of cords when I’m in project mode. I’ve tried those magnetic work lights too—handy, but they chew through batteries like nobody’s business. Here’s my cheapo method when the power cuts out mid-project:

1. Grab every flashlight in the house (kids’ toy ones included).
2. Prop them up in mugs or tape ‘em to whatever’s nearby.
3. If you’ve got a headlamp, wear it—even if you look ridiculous.
4. For hands-free, I’ve duct-taped a flashlight to my hat before. Not proud, but it works.

Not perfect, but at least I’m not buying more gear or stepping on plugs in the dark. Shadows everywhere, sure, but hey—beats working blind and stubbing your toe for the tenth time.
