"I'd probably research wireless options more thoroughly—might've saved me some frustration and a few extra holes in my vintage cabinetry..."

Wireless seems convenient, but in my experience, battery replacements get old fast. I'd stick to wired solutions, even if it means a little extra hassle upfront...less maintenance long-term.

I get the appeal of wired setups, but honestly, battery tech has improved a ton lately. I installed rechargeable LED puck lights under my cabinets about two years ago, and they've been surprisingly hassle-free. Sure, I have to recharge them every few months, but it's way less annoying than I expected—and definitely beats drilling into my old cabinetry again. Might be worth reconsidering wireless if you haven't looked at newer options lately...

Interesting perspective—do you mind if I ask how much those puck lights cost you initially? I've been tempted by wireless setups myself, mostly because I'm renting and can't exactly drill holes everywhere... but I'm always worried about the upfront expense versus longevity. Are replacement batteries pricey, or is it just a built-in rechargeable type thing? Sounds like a pretty neat solution either way, though I'd probably forget to recharge them until I'm cooking in the dark one night, haha.

I tried puck lights in a flip once—initial cost wasn't bad, around $25 for a set of three. Batteries were AA, so replacements weren't pricey, but changing them got old fast... especially when they dimmed mid-dinner prep, lol. Rechargeable sounds smarter if you're forgetful like me.

Haha, that sounds like something that would happen to me. I've been thinking about puck lights too, but the battery thing worries me. Has anyone tried those rechargeable LED strips instead? I'm curious if they're actually bright enough for kitchen tasks or if they're more decorative. Also, how long do they realistically hold a charge? I'm terrible at remembering to recharge stuff, so if it's less than a week, I'd probably end up cooking in the dark half the time...

Also, has anyone gone the hardwired route after trying battery-powered options? Wondering if the hassle and cost of wiring is worth it for the convenience. Or maybe solar-powered lights exist for kitchens now—though that might be wishful thinking, haha.
