Totally relate to your experience with textures. Did you find that adding those warmer elements made the space feel smaller at all, or did it still keep that open vibe? I'm about halfway through my first reno and leaning minimalist, but worried it'll end up feeling cold. Good call on the plants too—low-maintenance is key for me, haha.

I was worried about the same thing when I started my reno—minimalism can easily tip into feeling sterile if you're not careful. But honestly, adding warmer textures didn't shrink the space at all. It just softened things up and made it feel more inviting. Plants definitely help too...I went with snake plants and pothos because they're basically impossible to kill, haha. Good luck with yours!

Interesting point about plants—I love pothos too, they're pretty much bulletproof. Did you find that certain colors or materials made a bigger difference in keeping things open-feeling? I've been debating between wood accents and woven textures, but I'm worried wood might feel heavy. Curious if you experimented with different combos before settling on your final choices...
