Seriously, is it just me or have building inspections gotten way more nitpicky lately? I run a small shop downtown, and we just had our annual inspection last week. Usually it's pretty straightforward, but this time they flagged us for stuff that's been exactly the same for years. Like, suddenly our fire extinguishers are two inches too low, and the exit sign that's been perfectly fine for ages is now "not bright enough." Um, okay?
I get safety is important and all, but it feels like they're just looking for reasons to write us up. It's costing us money we really didn't budget for right now, and honestly, it's starting to feel like a racket. Wondering if anyone else has noticed inspectors getting pickier or if my luck just ran out this year.
