Just hit 20 years with the same HVAC - am I just lucky?

I always joke that my place breathes better than I do.

That’s the truth with these old houses - air just finds its way in no matter what you do. I’ve pulled out everything from mouse nests to crumpled magazines from rim joists. Proper sealing really does make a difference, but it’s never perfect. As for the HVAC, twenty years is impressive, but regular filter changes and keeping the coils clean probably helped more than luck. Most folks forget about the basics and wonder why their systems quit early.
